=== Edmonton Oilers Team Report - December 19 === (My Sportsbook) - Brad Isbister scored with 1.9 seconds remaining in the third period to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 1-1 tie with the Minnesota Wild at Rexall Place. Ty Conklin made 19 saves for the Oilers, who have won only twice in their last 13 games (2-7-4). Edmonton is also just 1-5-1 in its last seven at home. Manny Fernandez made 30 saves for the Wild and was on his way to a shutout, but the Oilers pulled Conklin for an extra attacker and the strategy paid off. Ryan Smyth gained control of the puck at the right side of the crease and tried to put a shot on net as he spun around. The puck, instead, slid across the top of the crease into the low left circle for Isbister, who lifted a shot past Fernandez for the tying goal, his fourth of the season. The Oilers, who have 30 points and are currently in last place in the Northwest Division, visit first-place Vancouver on Saturday night. |
