Amsterdam, Holland (My Sportsbook) - Ajax put up six goals in a sound defeat of Sparta, 6-2, on Friday to kick off the Dutch Eredivisie weekend fixtures. Johnny Heitinga and Kenneth Perez each scored two goals to lead the home side to the lopsided victory. With the win, Ajax moves into second place all alone in the league table - at least temporarily. Feyenoord, Heerenveen and NAC are just three points back ahead of their weekend fixtures with Vitesse, Heracles and Graafschap, respectively. PSV, which plays at Willem II on Saturday, is the current leader with 53 points. In Saturday's other Eredivisie fixtures, NEC hosts Excelsior, Heracles hosts Heerenveen and Roda hosts Twente. On Sunday, AZ travels to Groningen, Feyenoord hosts Vitesse, Utrecht hosts Venlo and Graafschap hosts NAC. |
