Amsterdam, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored a pair of goals as Ajax dealt Feyenoord a 3-0 defeat at Amsterdam Arena on Sunday in a battle of top-four sides. The win allows Ajax to move into second place, eight points behind league- leaders PSV Eindhoven, who earned a 2-0 win over AZ Alkmaar on Saturday. Ajax dropped a midweek game to PSV that has given the defending champs a cushion in the standings, but the Amsterdam club rebounded nicely on Sunday as Johnny Heitinga scored eight minutes into the match and Huntelaar added a second before halftime and another in the 90th minute. The hosts got off to a much-needed positive start with Heitinga taking the ball down the wing and cutting into the box. He then fired a left-footed shot past Feyenoord keeper Henk Timmer from 12 yards to put Ajax ahead. Garcia Gabri then set up Huntelaar's first tally right before the halftime whistle. Gabri crossed from the right and Huntelaar got on the other end of the cross to head the ball home and give his side a two-goal edge. Timmer continued to face pressure in the second half as Ajax controlled play. He made saves on Kennedy Bakircioglu and Huntelaar to keep Feyenoord in the match, but was unable to prevent Huntelaar's league-leading 22nd goal of the season in the 90th minute. Rasmus Lindgren floated a cross into the box and Huntelaar easily beat Timmer with a volley from the center of the box to cap a dominant performance by Ajax. Also on Sunday, Sparta moved out of the bottom three with a 2-0 win over Venlo, Roda earned a 1-1 draw with Groningen thanks to Andres Oper's 81st- minute goal, while Utrecht downed Willem II 2-0.
