Lisbon, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - Siena defender Leandro Grimi joined Sporting Lisbon in a loan deal on Monday that will keep the Argentinean at Sporting until the end of the season. Grimi spent the first half of the year at Siena, where he made 13 appearances for the Serie A side. The 22-year-old Grimi started his career with Huracan before moving on to Racing and then to Siena last season. He will be joining a Sporting team that is coming off of a 2-0 win over league-leaders FC Porto on Sunday. The club is currently third in the league table, 11 points back of Porto and three behind second-place Benfica. Sporting will next meet Belenenses in league play before taking on FC Basel in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 on February 13. |
