Bremen, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Werder Bremen loaned Carlos Alberto - who was signed for a team-record $11.5 million less than six months ago - to Sao Paulo in Brazil on Tuesday. Alberto, 23, left Brazil's Corinthians to sign with Werder Bremen last summer. The Brazilian attacking midfielder played just 44 minutes for Werder, which is tied in points with first-place Bayern Munich, this season. "We discussed the options with Carlos and came to the conclusion that a loan move would be the best for all involved and that he would have another chance to try his luck in Bremen again in six months time," Werder General Manager Klaus Allofs said. Alberto has suffered from sleep deprivation and was also involved in a fight with teammate Boubacar Sanogo last November. "After my half year in Bremen and the health problems which set me back, I am looking to get fit again as quickly as possible and will get plenty of match practice in Sao Paulo," said Alberto, who has played five times for Brazil. Werder Bremen opens the second half of the Bundesliga season on Feb. 3 when it hosts Bochum.
