Zurich, Switzerland (My Sportsbook) - Defending Swiss League champions FC Zurich signed Brazilian striker Gabriel Machado from Juventude on Monday. The 18-year-old Machado made just two appearances in league play for Juventude, both as a substitute, but he impressed the Zurich management enough in friendly appearances for the club to warrant a contract that will keep Machado at Zurich until 2009. No details of the fee were disclosed, but Machado could join Zurich in time to play in the team's UEFA Cup Round of 32 contest with Hamburg next month if he is registered. |
