Los Angeles Lakers look to extend their winning streak to three games when they take on Cleveland in the Cavaliers' home opener at Gund Arena Tuesday.
Kobe Bryant notched his second straight triple-double on Sunday with 33 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists, as the Lakers avenged an early-season loss to Portland with a 98-95 overtime triumph.
Bryant logged his fifth career triple-double. He had tallied 33 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and 12 assists in Friday night's victory over the Clippers. Bryant became the first Laker with consecutive triple-doubles since Magic Johnson in March 1991.
Devean George had a career-high 25 points, including six in overtime, for the Lakers Sunday. Brian Shaw added 14 points for Los Angeles, which has won its last two games after starting the season 0-2.
Cleveland started the season with a three-game road trip, which was capped by a 78-74 setback at the hands of the Phoenix Suns.
Ricky Davis paced the Cavs with 21 points, while Zydrunas Ilgauskas chipped in 17 points and a career-high 22 rebounds for Cleveland, which shot 35 percent from the floor.
Tyrone Hill finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while teammate Darius Miles scored 12 points and pulled down 11 boards.
Cleveland coach John Lucas was on the Cavs' bench after serving a two-game suspension for holding offseason workouts with high school star LeBron James in violation of NBA rules.
Cavaliers center Chris Mihm (strained left hamstring) is questionable for Tuesday's game.
The Lakers won both of last season's meetings and have taken the last six matchups overall. LA has also won three straight at Cleveland and five of its last six.
