Munich, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Bayern Munich signed 18-year-old Brazilian defender Breno on Thursday. AC Milan, Fiorentina, Juventus and Real Madrid were also in the hunt to sign the Brazilian Olympic team captain. "We're delighted we've succeeded in signing Breno, a young and exceptionally talented player," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said. Breno was acquired from Brazilian champion Sao Paulo. The transfer fee was not disclosed, but was reportedly around $18 million. Breno becomes a Bayern player on Jan. 1 and his contract runs through June 30, 2012. He will join Bayern when it resumes training on Jan. 7. Bayern, which leads the Bundesliga, ends the first half of the season Saturday at Hertha Berlin. Bayern kicks off the second half of the season on Feb. 1.
