Groningen, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Marcus Berg scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner in stoppage time, to lead Groningen to a 3-2 win over Feyenoord at Euroborg on Sunday.
Roy Makaay handed Feyenoord the lead after 11 minutes, and that held up until a frantic final 20 minutes that saw the two teams combine for four goals.
Berg scored his first goal of the game in the 72nd minute to level the match, and Erik Nevland put the home side ahead just three minutes later. Feyenoord got a goal from Nuri Sahin just two minutes after that to make it a 2-2 game, but Berg snatched all three points for Groningen in the game's final moments as he beat Feyenoord keeper Henk Timmer in a one-on-one situation to keep the Rotterdam club stuck in third place.
Feyenoord entered the game with a chance to move ahead of PSV Eindhoven and into second place with a win, and things looked good early as Makaay dribbled past two defenders and smacked home a shot from 12 yards to put the visitors in front.
The first half was played at a pretty measured pace, but things picked up quite a bit in the second half.
Berg got Groningen on the board in the 72nd as he lobbed a perfect shot over the head of the keeper from eight yards, and the home side was quickly ahead as Bruno Silva's cross found Nevland inside the area, allowing the striker to finish off the play 10 yards from goal.
Sahin pulled Feyenoord back to level terms at 2-2 in the 78th minute by streaking in behind the defense and finishing off the play, but just when things looked like they would end even, Berg got in on goal all alone with the keeper and fired an unstoppable shot into the back of the net to hand the hosts a big win.
In Sunday's other Eredivisie matches, Ajax moved back into the top spot with a 4-1 triumph against Vitesse, Sparta and Twente shared the points in a 1-1 contest and Guiseppe Rossini scored in the 89th minute to lead Utrecht to a 3-2 victory against NEC.
