Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - The Chicago White Sox designated outfielder Scott Podsednik for assignment on Tuesday. Podsednik, 31, struggled through an injury-hampered 2007 campaign. He batted only .243 with 12 stolen bases in 62 games, limited by a groin strain, with two homers and 11 runs batted in. Podsednik, known more for his speed than his power, hit .261 with 40 stolen bases in 2006, and .290 with 59 stolen bases in Chicago's World Series-winning 2005 season. The light-hitting outfielder came through in the clutch for the White Sox in the 2005 playoffs, including slugging the game-winning home run in Game Two of Chicago's sweep of the Astros in the World Series. For his career, the lefty is a .272 hitter with 27 home runs, 186 RBI, and 224 stolen bases in seven seasons.
