Sao Paulo, Brazil (My Sportsbook) - Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano received a call up to replace injured striker Afonso on Monday for Brazil's upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Fabiano currently leads La Liga with eight goals, and will return to the national team for the first time since 2004, when he helped Brazil win the Copa America. The striker has scored six goals for his country, while being called up to the national team 26 times. Afonso was left off of Brazil's squad after suffering a leg injury in Heerenveen's 1-0 win over Vitesse on Sunday in the Dutch league. Brazil will travel to Peru on Sunday and host Uruguay on Wednesday. They currently trail Argentina by two points and are coming off of a 5-0 win over Ecuador.
