Lisbon, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - Freddy Adu scored in stoppage time to help Benfica tie Setubal, 1-1, in the Portuguese League Cup on Saturday. Adu, a United States international, came on as a substitute in the 71st minute of the fourth-round, first-leg match. He also scored in Benfica's victory over Amadora in the previous round of the league cup. He signed with Benfica in late July, ending a four-year stint in Major League Soccer in the United States. But he has yet to carve out a consistent role in Portugal, appearing mainly as a sub. Benfica plays its next match Wednesday against Celtic in the Champions League. Benfica lost its first two games in Group D to AC Milan and Shaktar Donetsk. Benfica (3-0-4) is one of three unbeatens in the Portuguese Liga and returns to league action on Oct. 28 against Maritimo. The second-leg matches of the league cup are scheduled for Oct. 31. Adu, 18, played his second match with the United States on Wednesday in a 1-0 win over Switzerland.
