Maracaibo, Venezuela (My Sportsbook) - Lionel Messi scored another fantastic goal on Tuesday as Argentina took care of Venezuela, 2-0 at Jose Pachencho Romero in a World Cup qualifying contest. Gabriel Milito scored his first international goal in 30 appearances in the 16th minute to give the Argentines the lead before Messi doubled the score line two minutes before halftime. Argentina then coasted from there to earn its second win in as many matches in qualifying. The team beat Chile 2-0 on Saturday in its opening match. Argentina has now won all 15 meetings against Venezuela, which is the only South American country that has never qualified for the World Cup. After scoring both goals in Saturday's win for Argentina, Juan Roman Riquelme played the role of provider on Tuesday, serving up a cross from a free kick that was headed home by Milito. The home side did have a good share of the possession in the first half but was unable to make it count. They then found themselves down two goals before the half as Messi added to his count of goals on the season. Carlos Tevez carried the ball down the right flank and pulled it back for Messi at the top of the box. The Barcelona winger beat a defender with his first touch and then slammed a shot past keeper Renny Vicente Vega to make it a 2-0 game. There were a few openings in the second half for Venezuela, but those chances were squandered as the day always belonged to Argentina. Esteban Cambiasso hit the woodwork 10 minutes from time and striker German Denis also missed a chance to extend the lead but it didn't matter as Argentina easily claimed another three points. The two teams will resume qualifying on November 17 when Argentina hosts Bolivia and Venezuela travels to Colombia.
