(My Sportsbook) - The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to stay on the winning track when they host the Southeast Division-rival Florida Panthers this evening at St. Pete Times Forum.

Tampa Bay opened the season with a 3-1 win over New Jersey, then recorded a 5-2 victory against Atlanta on Saturday. Vinny Prospal and Brad Richards both scored a pair of goals, while Vincent Lecavalier had a goal and an assist for the Lightning, who are 2-0 for the first time since opening the 2003-04 campaign with six straight wins. That year Tampa Bay won the Stanley Cup for the first and only time in franchise history.

Martin St. Louis added two assists and netminder Johan Holmqvist made 13 saves in the win over the Thrashers. St. Louis, Lecavalier and Prospal have combined for 13 points (six goals, seven assists) through the first two games of the season with a total of 22 shots. Lecavalier led the NHL with 52 goals last season.

Florida, meanwhile, is off to an 0-2 start for the first time since the 2001-02 season. The Panthers dropped their season opener to the New York Rangers before suffering a 4-1 setback to the Devils on Saturday.

Cory Murphy scored in the first period for Florida, which is now 0-2 to start the season for the fourth time in its history. Tomas Vokoun made 18 saves in a losing cause. Vokoun was acquired from Nashville in the offseason and surrendered five goals on 24 shots in a 5-2 loss to the Rangers.

Wednesday's game between Florida and Tampa Bay is the first of the 2007-08 season. The Panthers went 5-3 against the Lightning last season and have won three straight, four of five and six of the last nine matchups.

Florida is 4-8-2 in its last 14 at St. Pete Times Forum.
