Buenos Aires, Argentina (My Sportsbook) - Independiente striker German Denis got his first call-up for Argentina as head coach Alfio Basile announced his roster for this month's upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Denis currently leads the Argentina Primera Division in scoring with 15 goals in 13 games, and is finally starting to breakout after uninspired spells with Arsenal and Colon. The 26-year-old Denis was one of seven domestic players named to the 25-man squad, which will face Chile on Saturday before traveling to Venezuela for a contest three days later. Two of the top scorers in Spain, Leo Messi (Barcelona) and Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid) give the club two very powerful options up top, and will be joined by Carlos Tevez (Manchester United), Javier Saviola (Real Madrid), and Denis. Roberto Abbondanzieri (Getafe) should get the start in goal with Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan), Martin Demichelis (Bayern Munich), Nicolas Burdisso (Inter Milan) and Gabriel Heinze (Real Madrid) each vying for a spot in defense. The midfield includes veteran Juan Roman Riquelme (Villarreal), Javier Mascherano (Liverpool), Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan), and Fernando Gago (Real Madrid).
