Raleigh, NC (My Sportsbook) - The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms with defenseman David Tanabe on a two-year, $1.5 million contract. "David completes our team's defensive corps," said Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford. "He gives the Hurricanes depth at a position where we need depth." Since turning pro in 1999-2000, the 27-year-old Tanabe has played parts of five seasons with the Hurricanes. He had five goals and 12 assists last season.
