(My Sportsbook) - The Phoenix Coyotes hope to begin their season with consecutive victories when they welcome the Boston Bruins for tonight's matchup at Jobing.com Arena.

The Coyotes are coming off a victory in their opening game of the season, as they edged the visiting St. Louis Blues on Thursday. Mikael Tellqvist made 22 saves and Daniel Winnik's first NHL goal was the game-winner, as Phoenix downed the Blues, 3-2.

Keith Ballard and Mike York scored for the Coyotes, who sported the worst record in the Western Conference a year ago, but hope to change that this year with a quick start to the season.

Phoenix was without defenseman Zbynek Michalek, who broke his hand in practice on Wednesday and is expected to miss the first four-to-six weeks of the season.

The Coyotes play five of their first seven games of the season at Jobing.com Arena, where they were just 18-20-3 last season. Phoenix will begin a brief two-game road trip Wednesday in Columbus.

Phoenix hasn't gone 2-0 to start a season since 2003-04, when it won the first three tests of the campaign.

Meanwhile, the Bruins continue their season-opening five-game road trip tonight. Boston began its 2007-08 schedule Friday in Dallas and was handed a 4-1 setback as Sergei Zubov and Brenden Morrow each notched a goal and an assist apiece.

Patrice Bergeron scored the lone goal for the Bruins, who played their first game under new head coach Claude Julien.

Manny Fernandez had a rough debut in a Boston uniform, allowing four goals on 18 shots. Fernandez was acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Wild in the offseason.

The Bruins will wrap up their swing with games in Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose.

Tonight's game marks the first matchup between the Bruins and Coyotes since December 11, 2005. The Coyotes have two wins and a tie in the last three meetings with Boston and the Bruins are 1-4-1 (1 win, 4 losses, 1 tie) in six all-time games in Phoenix.
