Nashville, TN (My Sportsbook) - The Nashville Predators named center Jason Arnott as the new team captain. Arnott, 32, is the fourth captain in Nashville history. Tom Fitzgerald, Greg Johnson and Scott Walker were the other players to wear the "C" in a Nashville uniform. The 6-4, 220-pound center tied for the team-lead in goals last year with 27, his first with Nashville, and added 27 assists in 68 games. He has posted more than 20 goals in eight straight seasons and 10 times in his 13-year career. The Collingwood, Ont. native has recorded 698 points (303 goals and 395 assists) in 892 career games with Edmonton, New Jersey, Dallas and Nashville. He played in the Stanley Cup Finals twice, winning the trophy in 2000 with New Jersey. "We signed Jason in the summer of 2006 for his on-ice contributions, but we were also very interested in him for his leadership and experience," said general manager David Poile. "He has been one of the most consistent offensive contributors in the league over the last decade, has won the Stanley Cup and is a commanding and respected presence within our dressing room."
