PITTSBURGH (AP) -Ronny Paulino singled in the go-ahead run in a three-run eighth inning, and Pittsburgh beat division-leading Milwaukee 7-4 on Wednesday.
Pinch-hitter Josh Phelps followed Paulino's hit with a two-run triple off Derrick Turnbow (4-5) and rookie Steve Pearce drove in two runs for Pittsburgh, which is one loss from a 15th consecutive losing season despite having won twice in the three-game series.
Milwaukee, which began the day one game ahead of the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central, dropped to 20-42 at PNC Park, which opened in 2001.
The Brewers tied it at 4 in the eighth on Prince Fielder's run-scoring grounder and Corey Hart's RBI triple. But the Brewers, who had won nine of 13, left the bases loaded when John Grabow (3-1) struck out pinch-hitter Geoff Jenkins.
Turnbow walked Jose Bautista and Pearce before Paulino's single put Pittsburgh ahead. Phelps then tripled to left-center.
Matt Capps pitched the ninth for his 16th save in 18 opportunities.

MIAMI (AP) - Todd Linden singled in pinch-runner Reggie Abercrombie with two outs in the 12th inning to lift Florida to the victory.
Mike Jacobs led off the 12th with a double against Saul Rivera (4-6) and was replaced by Abercrombie. After a strikeout, Abercrombie went to third on a groundout. Linden then singled up the middle.
Byung-Hyun Kim tied a career high with 10 strikeouts in 5 2-3 innings for the Marlins. He gave up four runs and seven hits.
Daniel Barone (1-2), the last of seven Florida pitchers, pitched a scoreless inning to get the win.
Starter Joel Hanrahan went 3 1-3 innings for Washington, which used nine pitchers. Hanrahan gave up three runs, six hits and six walks.
Ryan Church and Wily Mo Pena hit back-to-back homers off Kim in the fifth to give Washington a 4-3 lead.
