Miami, FL (My Sportsbook) - Todd Linden's seeing-eye single in the bottom of the 12th inning pushed Florida past Washington, 5-4, in the finale of a three- game set.

Against Saul Rivera (4-6), Mike Jacobs led off with an opposite-field double, then was lifted for pinch-runner Reggie Abercrombie. Miguel Olivo struck out, then Abercrombie moved to third when Robert Andino grounded out. He scored the game-winning run when Linden's slow, hopping hit up the middle eluded two Washington infielders and trickled into center.

Daniel Barone (1-2) earned his first major-league win by holding Washington off the scoreboard in the top of the 12th. Olivo hit a two-run homer for the Marlins, who took the final two games of the series. Miguel Cabrera collected three hits and knocked in a run and Jeremy Hermida homered.

Byung-Hyun Kim got the start for Florida and yielded seven hits and four runs over 5 2/3 frames, tying a career-high by fanning 10 while walking four.

Nats Starter Joel Hanrahan lasted just 3 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and three runs with five strikeouts and six walks.

Wily Mo Pena had two hits, including a solo home run, and scored twice for the Nationals, who have lost two straight and four of six. Ryan Church also homered and Hanrahan added a run-scoring single.

Florida loaded the bases with two outs in the second on walks to Kim and Dan Uggla with a single from Alfredo Amezaga in between. However, Hanrahan struck out Hermida looking to keep the game scoreless.

The Marlins eventually took a 2-0 lead in the third on Olivo's two-out, two- run home run. Cabrera also scored after leading off with a base hit.

In the fourth, Pena hit a one-out double off the wall in center and moved to third on Amezaga's fielding error. He later scored on Kim's wild pitch to bring the Nats within 2-1. Hanrahan's RBI single later in the frame tied the game, 2-2.

When Uggla and Hermida walked with one out in the home half, Hanrahan exited for Winston Abreu after throwing 104 pitches. Cabrera welcomed Abreu by smacking a single to left to score Uggla for a 3-2 lead.

Church lifted a two-out solo homer to right in the fifth to knot the game, 3-3, and Pena followed with a solo shot to left which put Washington ahead, 4-3.

Hermida began the sixth with a solo homer to make it 4-4, and the game remained deadlocked until the 12th.

Game Notes
