Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Ian Laperriere to a one-year contract extension through the 2008-2009 season on Thursday. Laperriere scored eight goals and recorded 29 points in 81 games last season for the Avs. The feisty winger led all Colorado forwards in hits with 85 and his 17 fighting majors was second-most in the NHL. In two seasons with the Avalanche, the 33-year-old has scored 29 goals, contributed 74 points and amassed 249 penalty minutes -- including a career- high 21 goals and 45 points in 2005-2006. A 12-year NHL veteran, Laperriere has recorded 107 goals, 278 points and 1.491 penalty minutes in 857 games with St. Louis, the New York Rangers, Los Angeles and Colorado. |
