Hamilton, ON (My Sportsbook) - Michael Bishop returned from a broken wrist to lead Toronto past Hamilton, 32-14, at Ivor Wynne Stadium.

Bishop, who suffered the broken wrist in Toronto's 48-15 victory over the Calgary Stampeders on July 12, completed 14-of-28 passes for 321 yards and a pair of touchdowns along with an interception. The former Kansas State star added 27 yards rushing as the Argos snapped a five-game skid.

Toronto (3-6) had started three different quarterbacks in Bishop's absence, but neither Damon Allen, Mike McMahon or Rocky Butler was able to lead the Argonauts to victory.

Robert Edwards rushed for 77 yards on 13 carries, while Derrell Mitchell caught three balls for 101 yards.

Rookie quarterback Timmy Chang started his first career game for Hamilton (1-8), but was ineffective. The former Hawaii stalwart was just 5-of-15 for 44 yards and an interception.

Jason Maas came on in relief and connected on 8-of-15 passes for 181 yards and a TD.

Anthony Davis ran for 43 yards and Brock Ralph had two receptions for 100 yards and a score.

Hamilton took the early lead with a single and quickly extended it when Zeke Moreno took a Bishop pass back 44 yards for a touchdown.

Bishop settled down from there and got Toronto right back in the game. He hooked up with Obed Cetoute on a 46-yard score to make it 8-7 with just over three minutes left in the opening quarter.

The Argos went on top for the first time in the second quarter when Byron Parker picked off a Chang pass and returned it 30 yards for a TD to make it a 14-8 game with 13:29 left in the half.

Toronto kept pulling away from there. Noel Prefontaine booted a 23-yard field goal and the team added a single to make it 18-8 with about 6 1/2 minutes to go in the opening half.

Prefontaine booted his second field goal of the game, a 44-yarder with 10:07 left in the third quarter, to extend the Argos advantage to 21-8.

The rout was on in the fourth when Bishop found Frank Murphy for a 11-yard TD to make it 28-8.

Hamilton finally got back on the scoreboard with a big play. Maas and Ralph hooked up for an 88-yard TD pass with just over 10 minutes left in the contest.

Another single by Toronto and a third field goal by Prefontaine accounted for the final margin.

Game Notes

Maas had started Hamilton's first eight games of the season and could manage just one victory...Toronto is now 2-3 on the road and 2-3 in the East Division...Hamilton is 1-3 at home and 1-5 against Eastern rivals.
