Columbus, OH (My Sportsbook) - According to broadcast reports on Friday afternoon, Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett has been handed a multi- game suspension by the NCAA. Clarett has been under investigation for several incidents. He has been accused of falsifying a theft report to police. Money and thousands of dollars worth of clothes and stereo equipment were reported stolen from a car Clarett parked on campus in the spring, according to police. Clarett's use of the vehicle is in question for a violation of NCAA rules for illegal benefits. Also, there has been questions about whether Clarett received assistance to pass a class before the Fiesta Bowl. Clarett set school freshman records with 1,237 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns last season for the National Champion Buckeyes. Ohio State opens the season on August 30 at home against Washington. Clarett, who has not been working out with the team, was not likely to play in the opener even if was cleared on Friday.
