Washington, DC (My Sportsbook) - Washington Nationals starting pitcher Billy Traber was optioned to Triple-A Columbus following the team's 7-6 victory over Arizona on Sunday. Traber went 2-2 with a 4.76 ERA in 28 games, including two starts, after having his contract purchased from Columbus on May 16. The left-hander went 2-0 with a 4.22 ERA in 26 relief appearances and 0-2 with a 7.04 ERA in two starts. Washington is expected to activate righthander Shawn Hill from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday in time to make a start against Philadelphia. Hill has been on the DL since May 14 with a left shoulder strain.
