CINCINNATI (AP) -Brian Giles hit two home runs for the second consecutive day and Jake Peavy remained unbeaten against Cincinnati as the San Diego Padres routed the Reds 10-4 Sunday.

Giles, who also homered on Friday, has hit five of his seven home runs in the past three days. It's the third time in his career he has homered in three consecutive games and the first time he has hit five in that span.

Khalil Greene added four hits and a career-high three doubles. He drove in three runs in support of Peavy, who improved to 5-0 in eight starts against the Reds, including 3-0 in four starts at Great American Ball Park. San Diego has won all eight of his starts against the Reds.

The Padres set a franchise record with nine doubles and 12 extra-base hits.

Peavy (13-5) allowed seven hits and four runs with one walk and five strikeouts while improving to 7-0 on the road this season, the best road record in the majors.

Right-hander Bronson Arroyo (5-13) gave up nine hits and five runs with one walk and five strikeouts in six innings for the Reds, who've lost three of their last four games.

Giles hit Arroyo's fourth pitch of the game into the right field seats, his first career leadoff homer. He followed with a solo shot to right-center in the fourth.Astros 6, Brewers 4

HOUSTON (AP) - Craig Biggio homered after he was honored by the Astros, and Lance Berkman hit a tiebreaking shot leading off the eighth inning to start a four-run rally for the Astros.

Berkman's homer, on the first pitch of the eighth from reliever Carlos Villaneuva, was his 21st of the season. It came three innings after Biggio went deep. In a ceremony before the game, the Astros honored the 20-year veteran for reaching 3,000 hits earlier this year.

Brad Ausmus hit a two-out RBI double for the Astros' second run in the eighth. Eric Bruntlett, who replaced Biggio in the top of the inning, added a bases-loaded, two-run single to make it 6-2.

Geoff Jenkins homered twice for the Brewers. The loss kept Milwaukee from earning its first road series sweep since June 29 to July 1, 2004, at Colorado.

Mark McLemore (2-0) pitched a perfect eighth for the win. J.J. Hardy hit a two-run homer for the Brewers in the ninth off Trever Miller, but Brad Lidge got the final out for his eighth save in 13 chances.

Villaneuva (6-3) gave up three runs and one hit in 1 2-3 innings.Mets 10, Marlins 4

NEW YORK (AP) - Moises Alou homered twice and drove in four runs, helping the Mets avoid a three-game sweep.

Jose Reyes and Carlos Delgado also connected for the first-place Mets, who snapped a three-game skid and finished a disappointing homestand with a 2-4 record against NL East rivals Atlanta and Florida.

Hanley Ramirez hit a leadoff homer for the Marlins, who had won three straight.

Alou, who had three hits, erased a 1-0 deficit in the second with a three-run shot off Rick Vandenhurk. In the sixth, Alou lined his second home run to left off Lee Gardner (3-3) to break a 4-all tie. It was his 31st career multihomer game.

Jorge Sosa (8-6) pitched two scoreless innings for the win and Aaron Heilman worked a perfect eighth to preserve a one-run lead.Nationals 7, Diamondbacks 6

PHOENIX (AP) - Jesus Flores hit a tying homer in the ninth and Felipe Lopez drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly as the Nationals rallied from a five-run deficit.

It was Washington's first win in seven games between the clubs this year.

With Washington trailing 6-5 in the ninth, Flores hit an 0-2 delivery from Arizona closer Jose Valverde (1-4) 337 feet inside the left-field foul pole.

Robert Fick followed with a triple to center and scored on Lopez's sacrifice fly to left.

Jon Rauch (8-2) pitched one inning of relief to earn the win, allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout. Chad Cordero pitched the ninth for his 26th save in 34 chances.

The Diamondbacks allowed the Nationals to tie the game with a four-run eighth inning, capped by Ryan Church's two-run, tying homer.

Arizona responded when Justin Upton led off the eighth with a single off Rauch and took third on Mark Reynolds' single. One out later, Stephen Drew hit a sacrifice fly to right field.Rockies 6, Cubs 3

DENVER (AP) - Troy Tulowitzki homered and also hit a go-ahead two-run double against Kerry Wood in the sixth to lead the Rockies.

Wood (0-1), who hadn't given up a run in three relief appearances since coming off the DL on Aug. 3, took over for Sean Marshall to start the sixth with the game tied 3-3.

Wood walked Geronimo Gil and allowed a pinch-hit double to Ian Stewart before walking Kaz Matsui intentionally to load the bases. Tulowitzki then lined a double off the scoreboard in right to score make it 5-3. Matt Holliday followed with an RBI ground out.

Matt Herges (1-0) worked 2 2-3 scoreless innings of relief for the Rockies, who split the four-game series with the Cubs. Manny Corpas pitched the ninth for his ninth save.

Tulowitzki tied the game at 3 in the fifth with his 15th homer of the season.Cardinals 12, Dodgers 2

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Anthony Reyes won his second game of the season and Ryan Ludwick homered and drove in four runs as the surging Cardinals completed a 5-2 homestand.

Reyes (2-11), who became the first pitcher since 1898 to begin the year 0-10, worked six innings and got his first career hit and RBI during a five-run third for St. Louis, which took two of three from the sagging Dodgers.

Brendan Ryan hit a two-run homer and had three RBIs after being recalled earlier in the day, and Aaron Miles and David Eckstein had three hits apiece.

The Cardinals knocked out Mark Hendrickson (4-7) in the third without Jim Edmonds and Scott Rolen - who got the day off due to heat - and Juan Encarnacion, who was out with a sore knee.

Hendrickson (4-7) lasted 2 2-3 innings, his shortest outing of the season, and gave up eight runs and 11 hits. He's 1-7 in his last 12 starts and 0-3 in five outings since his last win on July 8.Pirates 5, Giants 0

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Tom Gorzelanny allowed five hits in his first career shutout, and the Pirates finished off their first road sweep since early April.

Josh Phelps hit a two-run homer off Barry Zito and a two-run triple for the Pirates, who won their sixth straight game at San Francisco. Gorzelanny (11-6) finished his first complete game by retiring the Giants' final 16 batters.

The left-hander never faced much trouble from Barry Bonds and the Giants' punchless lineup. Gorzelanny, who got his first career victory against the Giants last season, held Bonds to 1-for-3 with a walk as the Giants managed just one extra-base hit against Gorzelanny while losing their eighth in 10 games.

Zito (8-11) was booed when he walked the first three batters he faced in his first career start against Pittsburgh, the only major league club he had never met. The struggling left-hander escaped that jam, but yielded Cesar Izturis' RBI single in the second before settling down to retire the next 11 batters.
