Arlington, TX (My Sportsbook) - Edwin Jackson hurled a four-hit shutout as Tampa topped Texas, 3-0, in the middle contest of a three-game set. Jackson (3-11) struck out eight and walked just one, retiring the first 10 batters he faced. It was the German-born right-hander's first major-league shutout as well as his first-ever complete game. Carl Crawford extended his multi-hit streak to eight games and his hit streak to 12 by going 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Devil Rays, who have won three of their last four. Delmon Young doubled twice and drove in a run, while Brendan Harris and Greg Norton also knocked in a run each. Texas starter John Rheinecker (1-1) turned in a solid outing despite the loss, allowing six hits and three runs with six strikeouts and one walk in six innings. Brad Wilkerson doubled for the Rangers, who have lost four of six. Tampa got a run in the first on Young's RBI double, and took a 2-0 lead on Norton's run-scoring double in the second. Jackson held the Rangers to one hit through five, and Harris boosted Tampa's lead to 3-0 in the sixth with a two-out RBI single. From there, Tampa's starter allowed a double to David Murphy and singles by Michael Young and Gerald Laird but was able to finish the contest and register the Rays' first shutout of an opponent this season.
