Cincinnati, OH (My Sportsbook) - Bobby Livingston threw a career-best 8 1/3 innings and Jeff Keppinger drove in three runs as the Cincinnati Reds beat the San Diego Padres, 8-3, in the second of a three-game set. Livingston (3-2) allowed three runs on four hits, while striking out two without a walk. Norris Hopper had three hits and scored a run and Alex Gonzalez knocked in two runs for the Reds, who have won five of seven. Brian Giles homered twice for the Padres, who have lost three of four. San Diego starter Justin Germano went 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits with five strikeouts and four walks. Justin Hampson (2-3) got the loss.

Final Score: Pittsburgh 13, San Francisco 3

San Francisco, CA (My Sportsbook) - Freddy Sanchez had a huge day as he went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and a career-high five RBI to help the Pittsburgh Pirates crush the San Francisco Giants, 13-3, in the second of a three-game set at AT&T Park. Adam LaRoche hit a solo home run and drove in three and Jose Bautista went 2-for-4 with three runs scored for the Pirates, who have won three of their last five. Tony Armas (2-3) won his second straight start as he gave up three runs on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts in six-plus innings of work. Ryan Klesko went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Randy Winn hit a solo home run for the Giants, who have lost three straight and four of five. Barry Bonds, who hit career home run No. 758 on Friday night, had a day of rest as he did not play in the game. Tim Lincecum (6-3) got the loss as he gave up six runs on nine hits with a walk and eight strikeouts in six innings of work. He had won his previous four decisions.

Final Score: St. Louis 6, Los Angeles 1

St. Louis, MO (My Sportsbook) - Rick Ankiel hit two home runs and knocked in three as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-1, in the middle game of a three-game series at Busch Stadium. Ankiel, a former pitcher, who was moved to the outfield after arm and accuracy problems, also singled and scored three times, and Jim Edmonds collected two hits including a two- run single for the Cards, who have won three of their last four. Braden Looper (10-9) pitched six strong innings, allowing one run on four hits, while striking out three and walking one. The St. Louis bullpen gave up only one hit over the last three innings. Luis Gonzalez accounted for the Dodgers lone run with an RBI double. Andre Ethier also had a pair of two- base hits for LA, which had a brief two-game winning streak halted and have now lost 10 of its last 13 contests. Derek Lowe (8-11) surrendered five runs -- three earned -- on seven hits in six innings of work. The right-hander struck out five and didn't allow a walk.

Final Score: Milwaukee 7, Houston 4

Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - Ryan Braun hit a two-out, three-run home run in the ninth off Astros closer Brad Lidge to give the Brewers the lead, as Milwaukee rallied late to beat Houston, 7-4, in the middle contest of a three- game set at Minute Maid Park. The Brewers, who have now won six straight against their division rival and 9 of 11 meetings in 2007, maintained their slim lead over the Cubs for the lead in the NL Central. Scott Linebrink (4-3) pitched a scoreless eighth to pick up the win, while Brewers starter Jeff Suppan gave up four runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts. Carlos Lee knocked in a pair of runs for the Astros, who have lost two in a row after a three-game winning streak. Rodriguez gave up just six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four and walking three. Brad Lidge (3-2) was charged with the loss.

Final Score: Atlanta 7, Philadelphia 5

Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Kelly Johnson homered and drove in three as the Atlanta Braves held off the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-5, in the second of a three-game set. Willie Harris and Jeff Francoeur each collected two hits and scored twice, and Francoeur added a solo homer for the Braves, who have won five of seven and leapfrogged the Phillies back into second place in the NL East, 2 1/2 games behind the New York Mets. The Braves also jumped past the Phillies in the wild card race, pulling to within a half-game of San Diego for the top spot. Braves starter Lance Cormier was tagged for seven hits and four runs in four-plus innings. Ron Mahay (3-0) tossed a scoreless inning of relief. Bob Wickman picked up his 19th save. Struggling Phillies starter Adam Eaton (9-8) was ripped for eight hits and six runs in three- plus innings. Jimmy Rollins and Aaron Rowand homered for the Phils, who battled back from the early hole that Eaton dug for them, but still fell for the second time in three games.

Final Score: Florida 7, New York 5

Flushing, NY (My Sportsbook) - Miguel Cabrera's tie-breaking, two-run single in the eighth inning lifted the Florida Marlins over the New York Mets, 7-5, at Shea Stadium. Josh Willingham went 3-for-5 with a grand slam and a career-high tying five RBI for the Marlins, who have won each of the first two games of this three-game set in dramatic style. David Wright hit a pair of homers, going 3-for-4, and drove in three runs for the Mets, who had their lead in the NL East fall to 2 1/2 games over Atlanta. Justin Miller (4-0) got the win despite blowing a 5-3 lead in the seventh. Aaron Heilman (7-4) suffered the loss, blowing a strong start from starter Tom Glavine. Glavine, in his first start since picking up the 300th win of his career, received a no-decision. The left-hander allowed two runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out five, as the bullpen again blew a potential win for the veteran.

Final Score: Arizona 1, Washington 0

Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - Brandon Webb tossed his second consecutive shutout, extending his scoreless streak to a club-record 33 innings, as the Arizona Diamondbacks held off the Washington Nationals, 1-0, in the middle contest of a three-game set at Chase Field. Webb (12-8), the National League's reigning Cy Young Award winner, allowed just five hits, walked a batter and fanned 10. He was coming off a three-hit, 3-0 complete-game victory at Los Angeles last Sunday and has pitched consecutive shutouts for the second time in his career. He also did it last season on May 20 against Atlanta and May 26 against Cincinnati. The right-hander has not allowed a run since the sixth inning of a 6-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs on July 20, besting the mark of 30 consecutive scoreless innings he set from May 20- June 5 last year. He also lowered his earned run average to 2.77, among the best in the majors. Justin Upton knocked in the lone run for Arizona, which has won four straight and 17 of their last 20 overall. They are a season-high 16 games over .500 and have jumped four games ahead of San Diego in the NL West. John Lannan (1-1) was the hard-luck loser, yielding just one run and four hits over seven innings. Lannan walked a pair of batters and struck out one for the Nationals, who have dropped the first two games in the series and four of their last six overall.

Final Score: Colorado 15, Chicago 2

Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - Jamey Carroll hit a pinch-hit grand slam and drove in a career-high five runs as the Colorado Rockies routed the Chicago Cubs, 15-2, in the third of a four-game set. Troy Tulowitzki went 4-for-5 with three RBI and scored a run and Kaz Matsui finished 3-for-6 for the Rockies, who rebounded from dropping the first two games of the series. Brad Hawpe homered and drove in three for Colorado. Josh Fogg (7-7) held the Cubs to five hits and two runs through six innings. Rich Hill (6-7) was rocked for nine hits and seven runs in 5 2/3 innings. The Cubs bullpen fell apart in the seventh and eighth, when the Rockies put up consecutive four-spots to salt the game away. Felix Pie went 2-for-4 for the Cubs, who have dropped five of seven, and fell 1 1/2 games behind the Brewers in the NL Central.
