Greenville, NC (My Sportsbook) - East Carolina University running back Art Brown will miss the 2003 season because of a right knee injury. The senior was named a preseason All-Conference USA selection at running back, following a 2002 season that saw him earn second-team honors with 1,029 rushing yards on 214 carries. "We are saddened by the loss of Art to this unfortunate injury. However, I am confident that his work ethic and determination will help him recover and be ready to help us in 2004," Pirate head coach John Thompson said. Brown ranked sixth in the nation in scoring last season with 17 touchdowns (14 rushing, three receiving) and missed breaking the ECU season-scoring record by just one touchdown, despite missing the team's final two games of 2002 with a groin injury. |
