Zurich, Switzerland (My Sportsbook) - FIFA Women's World Cup games scheduled for Sept. 18 have been moved to Sept. 17, due to a historical date in Chinese history. Germany was scheduled to play Japan and England was supposed to play Argentina on Sept. 18, but that is when China remembers the Manchurian/Mukden incident. That is when Japanese troops seized the city of Shenyang in northeast China in 1931. "Given the historical background and taking into account the security considerations, FIFA and the LOC deemed it appropriate to move these matches forward by one day." FIFA said in a statement on its Web site. Both games will now be played on Sept. 17. The local organizing committee made the request to change the date of the two games. The World Cup in Sept. 10-30 in China.
