Lisbon, Portugal (My Sportsbook) - Portuguese champions FC Porto added River Plate striker Ernesto Farias to the side on Wednesday in a deal that is reportedly worth nearly $5.5 million. The 27-year-old Argentinean had been thought to be ready to join Mexican side Toluca, but instead he will head back to Europe in another attempt to succeed across the Atlantic. Farias made a name for himself at Estudiantes where he scored nearly 100 goals before moving on to play in Europe in 2004. He tried his luck at Italian club Palermo but failed to score in 13 appearances before heading back home to play for River Plate. Upon his arrival, Farias notched 35 goals in three seasons but will now head back overseas to play for Champions League participants FC Porto. The signing of Farias continues a busy offseason at Estadio do Dragao as the club has already added Fernando, Lino, Mario Bolatti, Luis Aguiar, Edgar, Mariano Gonzalez, Przemyslaw Kazmierczak and Leandro Lima.
