Omaha, NE (My Sportsbook) - Chris Dominguez belted two home runs as the Louisville Cardinals eliminated the Mississippi State Bulldogs from the College World Series on Sunday with a 12-4 victory. Logan Johnson and Daniel Burton also went deep for Louisville, which will play Tuesday against the loser of the Rice/North Carolina contest later on Sunday. Starting pitcher Justin Marks hurled 5 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits, picking up the victory for the Cardinals, who had 18 hits in the game. Brandon Turner hit a three-run homer in defeat for Mississippi State, which became the first team eliminated from the tournament. Chad Crosswhite suffered the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits in just 2 1/3 innings. The Cardinals pounced on the Bulldogs early and took a 2-0 lead in the first inning courtesy of Johnson's home run. Dominguez's solo homer in the second gave Louisville a 3-0 advantage while Isaiah Howes' double scored two in the third inning to make it 5-0. The Cardinals blew the game open in the fourth after Burton's three-run homer made it an eight-run contest. A three-run homer by Turner in the sixth inning got the Bulldogs on the board and made it 8-3, but Louisville tacked on three more runs in the seventh to make it an eight-run advantage. Mitch Moreland's RBI double in the bottom of the seventh made it 11-4, while the Cardinals scored a run in the ninth to account for the final margin.
