Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Monday that they have released free agent guard Randy Livingston. The team also placed guard Terrell Brandon, forward Joe Smith and swingman Felipe Lopez on the injured list. Livingston, a six-year veteran, posted 3.2 points per game in 13 contests with Seattle last season. He has averaged 4.1 points in 171 career NBA regular season games. Livingston signed a free agent contract with the Timberwolves on September 30. Brandon, who missed the final 34 games of the 2001-02 season with torn cartilage in his left leg, did not appear in the preseason. He underwent surgery on February 21, 2002. In 32 contests last year, Brandon averaged 12.4 points and 8.3 assists per outing. Lopez will undergo surgery on his left knee Tuesday. He missed the final two games of the preseason after tearing the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments on October 19th against Boston. Lopez will be sidelined indefinitely. Smith missed the entire preseason after suffering a strained left groin on October 4th.
