Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - The Minnesota Timberwolves announced the signing of free agent center Loren Woods to a one-year qualifying offer. Terms of the deal were not announced. Last season, the 7-foot-1 Woods averaged 1.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 8.6 minutes per game while seeing action in 60 contests. He followed those numbers with averages of 11.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.00 blocks in six games for the Timberwolves during the Shaw's Pro Summer League in Boston. "We are excited to get Loren signed," said team Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale. "He played well in our summer league and showed potential last season. He will continue to get better and will help us in the near future." Woods was Minnesota's 46th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft after a two- year, 55-game collegiate career at Arizona, where he averaged 14.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 3.38 blocks per game.
