Green Bay, WI (My Sportsbook) - Akili Smith agreed to terms with the Green Bay Packers on Friday. The quarterback was placed on waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals last week. Smith, the third overall selection of the 1999 NFL draft, played in 22 games in four seasons for the Bengals. He made 17 starts, throwing for 2,212 yards, with five touchdowns and 13 interceptions overall. He completed 215-of-461 pass attempts (46.6%) for a 52.8 quarterback rating. Last year Smith played in one game and has appeared in just three over the last two seasons. The 6-3, 230-pound Smith joins veterans Doug Pederson and Craig Nall and first-year players Eric Crouch and Zak Kustok in the competition to back up 12-year starter Brett Favre at quarterback.
