Toronto, Ontario (My Sportsbook) - Nicklas Lidstrom of the Detroit Red Wings has been honored with the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the National Hockey League's best defenseman. Lidstrom has won the award for the third straight season and has been nominated six years in a row. He finished third among defensemen in scoring (62 points) and led the league in ice time per game (29:20). The other finalists were the Dallas Stars' Derian Hatcher and St. Louis Blues' Al MacInnis. MacInnis, a fellow six-time nominee, won the award in 1999 and comes off a season in which he led all defensemen in scoring (68 points). First-time finalist Hatcher paced his team in ice time per game (25:51) and was fifth in the NHL in plus/minus (+37).
