Indianapolis, IN (My Sportsbook) - Indiana Pacers guard Reggie Miller will miss the preseason finale on Friday against Minnesota and possibly the regular season-opener versus Houston on October 30 because of a sprained right ankle. Miller was with the team, but did not play in a 96-89 victory over Denver on Wednesday night. He began injection therapy under the supervision of one of his personal physicians. The treatment involves one injection per week for up to three weeks. Miller suffered the sprain during an August 25 exhibition game against Germany as the United States was preparing for the World Basketball Championship in Indianapolis. After sitting out the first three games in the WBC, Miller returned to finish out the tournament. The 37-year-old Miller appeared in 79 games last season and averaged 16.5 points per contest. Meanwhile, the club released center Greg Foster and forward Nate Green on Thursday.
