(My Sportsbook) - The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets try and stop a five-game losing streak when they visit the Atlanta Hawks tonight at Philips Arena.

The Hornets, who also lost all four games on a recent road trip, dropped their fifth straight with Monday's 100-90 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.

Desmond Mason had 28 points to lead the Hornets, while Tyson Chandler had 13 points and 13 boards in the loss. New Orleans/Oklahoma City is 15 games off the lead in the Southwest Division.

New Orleans/Oklahoma City continues to play without star guard Chris Paul (sprained right ankle) and forwards Peja Stojakovic (lower back) and David West (right forearm/elbow). Paul, who was injured on December 26th, leads the team in scoring (18.4 ppg) and assists (9.0 apg). Stojakovic is averaging 17.8 points per game and last played on November 24th, while West (right forearm/elbow) is averaging 17.4 points and 8.3 rebounds, and has not played since November 12th.

Guard Bobby Jackson (cracked ribs) is questionable for tonight's contest. He has missed 18 games this season for the Hornets.

The Hornets are 5-12 as the visitor this season and have dropped seven in a row on the road.

Atlanta, meanwhile, will open a three-game homestand on Wednesday and have lost nine of its last 10 games. On Tuesday the Hawks sustained a 91-72 loss to the Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Speedy Claxton notched 12 points and six rebounds for the Hawks, who are 2-13 over their last 15 contests. Joe Johnson netted 10 points as the only other Atlanta player in double figures in the loss to Indiana.

The Hawks, who are 9 1/2 games out of first place in the Southeast standings, own a 5-9 record at Philips Arena this season.

New Orleans/Oklahoma City and Atlanta are meeting for the first time this season. The Hawks have won three of five and four of the last seven meetings with the Hornets, who have dropped five of their last six trips to Atlanta.
