London, England (My Sportsbook) - English Premiership refereeing chief Keith Hackett will speak to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho after comments he made following his team's loss this past weekend.
Mourinho had some not-so-kind words to say about the refereeing decisions made by Graham Poll. Poll issued six yellow cards to Chelsea during the match, including two to star defender and team captain, John Terry.
"Mr. Mourinho is a world-class, top manager and I will be privileged to speak to him and I am pleased he wants to do that with me," Hackett told premierleague.com Tuesday. "It shows he cares and wants to understand."
Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard will both speak to the Football Association following claims that referee Poll targeted Chelsea during their defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.
Poll will also be spoken to by the FA as they gather information, as will his two assistants and the fourth official.
Chelsea feels the squad was unfairly targeted by Poll, as are other top teams in the Premiership, because of their success.
"When I was at Arsenal and we started to win things, the referees started to question our discipline and give us yellow cards," Cole, one of the Chelsea players booked this weekend, said to foxsports.com. "I have to come to Chelsea and it's exactly the same. It's definitely to do with the team that is winning the most."
All Premiership referees are wired for sound so Hackett believes listening to recordings will prove the officials did not target Mourinho's squad.
Chelsea has been fined 10,000 to 15,000 pounds for failing to control players three times in the past two seasons.
