Indianapolis, IN (My Sportsbook) - On Friday, Forsythe Championship Racing announced that 2004 Indy 500 winner Buddy Rice would replace A.J. Allmendinger in the Champ Car Series finale at Mexico City, Mexico. Allmendinger had announced earlier in the week that he would jump to the NASCAR Series in 2007. Rice was the 2000 Formula Atlantic champion, a feeder series for Champ Cars. He then moved to the IndyCar Series where he made 63 starts, winning three times and collecting 26 top-10s. "I'm very excited," said Rice. "It was looking like being a very long off season so I can't wait to be back in a car and driving again. Forsythe is one of the top teams out there and there's no better feeling than knowing that you will be in a competitive car that can run up front and win races."
