Oakland, CA (My Sportsbook) - Oakland Raiders rookie cornerback Phillip Buchanon will be sidelined for eight weeks after breaking his left wrist in Sunday's 27-21 overtime defeat to San Diego. The Raiders' top draft pick out of Miami-Florida left Sunday's contest after landing awkwardly while defending a pass play with 7:23 to play before the intermission. Buchanon underwent surgery Sunday night and had pins inserted into the wrist. Buchanon was in the starting lineup since the Raiders' secondary is already without Charles Woodson, who broke his right shoulder on September 15 at Pittsburgh. The 17th overall selection in the draft, Buchanon started for Miami's national championship team last season.
