Albany, NY (My Sportsbook) - The Continental Basketball Association continued its expansion wave Friday, adding an additional five teams that will begin play for the 2006-07 season.

The Florida Pit Bulls, Indiana Alleycats and Southern California Legends -- all owned by Trinity Sports & Entertainment Group, Inc. -- will leave the ABA to join the CBA. Two additional franchises owned by TSEG will be named later.

TSEG is a holding and management company formed by former NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway, NFL quarterback Jay Fiedler and south Florida investment banker Demetrius Ford.

"Based on our experiences in the ABA, we felt it was time for us to move up to the next level of professional basketball, the CBA," said Hardaway, TSEG Chief Basketball Operations Advisor and player/coach for the Pit Bulls.

"Our objective is to build the best sports and entertainment company in the country, and produce and deliver top quality entertainment and sporting events at affordable, everyday people prices. The CBA is entering its 61st year of operation, and that's extremely significant because stability is what our fans, sponsors and other partners demand, and we simply cannot afford a repeat of all the schedule changes and game cancellations we had to endure in the ABA last season."

The CBA saw the Dakota Wizards, Idaho Stampede and Sioux Falls Skyforce leave after last season to join the NBA Development League. In May, four teams owned by Apex Sportstainment joined the CBA.
