Magny-Cours, France (My Sportsbook) - After announcing that he would leave McLaren's Formula One team to drive for Chip Ganassi in the Nextel Cup Series in 2007, McLaren has dropped Montoya effective immediately. Pedro de la Rosa will drive the second McLaren alongside Kimi Raikkonen at the French Grand Prix on Sunday. It will be de la Rosa's second appearance for McLaren having finished fifth in the 2005 Bahrain Grand Prix. "We have agreed that with so many things happening in Juan Pablo's life right now, he should take some time out of the car and prepare professionally and personally for the future," said McLaren team boss Ron Dennis. Montoya's decision opens the door for up-and-coming star Lewis Hamilton to drive with Fernando Alonso next year.
