Berlin, Germany (My Sportsbook) - France and Italy scored a goal each inside of the first 20 minutes to finish the first half tied, 1-1 in the World Cup's final match. Zinedine Zidane scored the first goal of the match in the seventh minute on a penalty kick. Zidane earned the free kick after France's Florent Malouda was fouled inside of the penalty box. Zidane's kick was chipped towards the crossbar and deflected into the goal, just over the goal line to give France the 1-0 lead. The goal was the fastest goal scored in a World Cup final since 1974. The goal was also just the second Italy has conceded in the tournament. Italy found the equalizer 12 minutes later on a Marco Materazzi header to bring the teams even. In the first 45 minutes, both teams combined for four shots on goal. Two yellow cards were issued, one to each team in the first half.
