Dortmund, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Germany midfielder Torsten Frings was issued a two-match ban by FIFA's disciplinary committee Monday and will be forced to the sideline for Tuesday's semifinal match against Italy. According to FIFA, Frings was banned for punching Argentina's Julio Cruz after the end of Friday's match. Germany won the match, 4-2, on penalties. The midfielder was given a two-match ban, with the second match suspended, meaning Frings would be allowed to play in the finals if Germany makes it that far.
