Berlin, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Manager Jose Pekerman resigned from his coaching position Friday shortly after Argentina was eliminated from the World Cup. Argentina and Germany played to a 1-1 draw before the host nation advanced on a penalty-kick shootout. Pekerman, who is 56-years-old, had just taken charge of Argentina in September 2004. Argentina had a one goal lead for much of the match from Roberto Ayala's goal in the 49th minute. Germany's Miroslav Klose found the equalizer in the 80th minute, sending both teams to extra time and then into the shootout. Argentina finished the group stages with two wins and a draw, earning the Group C first place spot over the Netherlands. The team advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Mexico, 2-1 in extra time.
