Moscow, Russia (My Sportsbook) - Zenit St. Petersburg named Dick Advocaat as its new head coach on Monday. The 58-year-old inked an 18-month contract, and fills the void left by Vlastimil Petrzela, who stepped down last month. Zenit St. Petersburg, which is on a World Cup break, sits near the middle of the Russian Premier League table with 12 points through its first nine outings. Advocaat just recently stepped down as the Korea Republic coach after that squad failed to make it out of the group stage in the World Cup. The Korea Republic finished behind Switzerland and France in Group G in the prestigious tournament. Advocatt has also coached the Dutch National Team, PSV Eindohoven and Rangers. Zenit will return to its league schedule on July 11, versus FC Moscow. In that game, Advocaat will share his debut with countryman Cor Pot, who was named the assistant coach earlier this month.
