=== One is enough: First-half goal gives Spain first place spot ===

Kaiserslautern, Germany (My Sportsbook) - Spain picked up right were it left off in its last match by scoring a first-half goal to win its third group match, 1-0, over Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Juanito drilled a header into the back of the opposing net in the 36th minute to score the only goal of the match. Despite the narrow lead, Spain held on with a strong defensive line that allowed Saudi Arabia few chances on the net.

Having already clinched a spot in the next round, the win ensured Spain the first place spot in Group H. For Saudi Arabia, the 1-0 loss eliminates the team for the World Cup.

Spain will move on to face the second place team out of Group G on Tuesday in Hanover.

The match pace opened slowly to start, with both teams playing much of the ball in the midfield.

In the 13th minute, the Saudi Arabia lineup took an early hit, when Nawaf Al Temyat was brought in off the bench to replace Khaled Aziz. Aziz injured his hamstring in the 10th minute and was unable to return.

Following the injury, Spain began to take control of the match, finding the majority of the goal scoring opportunities.

After taking four shots on goal, Spain finally managed to find a hole in the defense, scoring the first goal of the match on a header from Juanito in the 36th minute.

Jose Antonio Reyes drilled a free kick from the right side into the center of the box. Juanito met the pass, heading in the first goal of the match to give Spain the 1-0 lead.

With the one goal lead, Spain continued to pressure the Saudi Arabia side of the field. By the end of the first half, the Spain offense had found seven shots on goal compared to Saudi Arabia's one.

In the second half, Spain continued its pressure, finding three more shots on the Saudi Arabia net by the 56th minute.

Despite the one goal deficit, Saudi Arabia continued to fight, and managed to find four shots on goal before the final whistle.

In the 89th minute, Saudi Arabia found its best chance on the Spanish net with a shot from close range that was drilled over the net and out of bounds.
