Hamburg, Germany (My Sportsbook) - After suffering a devastating 4-0 loss to Spain in its opening match, Ukraine bounced back with an impressive 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia Monday in Hamburg. Ukraine, which was the first European country besides host Germany to secure a place in this year's competition, earned a much-needed win courtesy of strikes by Andriy Rusol, Serhiy Rebrov, Andriy Shevchenko and Maksim Kalinichenko. In just the third minute, Rusol notched Ukraine's first goal of the tournament as he capitalized on Kalinichenko's corner kick. Rebrov then doubled the Ukrainians lead in the 35th minute as he launched the ball from 35 yards out past Saudi goalkeeper Mabrouk Zaid. Heading into the second half, Shevchenko put his team ahead 3-0. The AC Milan striker received Kalinichenko's cross and sent a powerful header past a frustrated Zaid. It was Shevchenko's first World Cup goal. Kalinichenko then put the game out of reach as he collected Shevchenko's pass and fired it into the roof of the net. Ukraine takes the field against Tunisia Friday in its final group match, while Saudi Arabia meets Spain later that day.
