Fullerton, CA (My Sportsbook) - Cal State Fullerton was one of four teams that advanced on Saturday into the College World Series. Coming out of the Fullerton Super Regional, the Titans (48-13) downed Missouri 9-1 to win their 12th consecutive game. Junior pitcher Lauren Gagnier threw 7 2/3 innings of no-hit ball and Danny Dorn drove in four runs to give head coach George Horton his 450th career win. Fullerton will next face North Carolina, which also advanced on Saturday, in the College World Series. The Tar Heels (50-13) swept Alabama with an 8-7 come-from-behind win to move out of the Tuscaloosa Super Regional. Chad Flack hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning to give North Carolina a 5-4 lead. The Crimson Tide battled back and took a 7-6 edge in the ninth on a three-run homer by Alex Avila before Flack put the Tar Heels into the series with a two-run blast in the bottom of the ninth. Georgia Tech moved into the World Series after besting the College of Charleston 12-3 on Saturday. Lee Hyde threw eight solid innings while Whit Robbins hit a homer and drove in three runs for the Yellow Jackets (50-16), who are making their third appearance in the College World Series in school history after winning the Atlanta Super Regional. Georgia Tech will meet Clemson, which recorded a 6-5 win over Oral Roberts to advance and win the Clemson Super Regional. Stan Widmann was the hero as he hit a two-run single in the eighth inning to help win it for the Tigers (52-14). Clemson heads to the series for the 11th time in school history.
