Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Top-seeded Pepperdine's quest for a trip to Omaha is over, while Georgia and Rice used home cooking to take one step closer to the College World Series. In Malibu, Brock Bond finished 4-for-5 with an RBI as Missouri stunned Pepperdine, 8-3, to advance to the super regionals for the first time. The Tigers (35-26) jumped out to a 7-0 advantage and became the first fourth seed to get to the super regionals. Missouri will face national power Cal State Fullerton next weekend. In Athens, Joey Side clubbed a two-run homer and freshman Trevor Holder showed the nerves of an upperclassmen in Georgia's 3-2 victory over Florida State. Georgia (45-20) improved to 14-2 all-time in the regionals and 8-0 at Foley Field. The Bulldogs will square off against South Carolina next weekend. In Charlottesville, South Carolina (40-23) received a solid pitching performance from Wynn Pelzer and Phil Disher smashed his third homer in four games, as the Gamecocks rolled into the super regionals with a 5-1 win over Evansville. In Houston, the No. 2 national seed Rice (53-10) rallied from a three-run deficit to best Baylor, 7-4, and advance to the super regionals. Joe Savery collected the victory after allowing three runs on two hits with five strikeouts in five innings. Rice will meet the Oklahoma Sooners next weekend. The Sooners advanced behind a six-run second inning then held on to knock off Wichita State, 7-6, in Norman. Oklahoma (44-20) won its first regional title since 1995, a season in which it reached the College World Series.
